Watercolor and colored pencils portrait girl 1

Hello friends!

I used an old black and white photo as a reference.

The support is a cold pressed watercolor paper of 300 gr. and fine grain. I painted the base of the portrait with blue watercolor and I finished it with colored pencils. This time I tried the pencils "Pablo" by Caran d'Aches and I love these colored pencils!!

See you soon!!

Bonjour mes amis!

Dry brush Technique on Watercolor Portrait 1

Hello everyone!

This is one work that deals with an exercise to which I was taking pictures as I progressed. Here I show you two images with 4 photos each one. You must begin to see from left to right. In the first image and in the first photo on the left is the beginning; the end is in the second image and in the fourth photo, where are also the brushes that I have used.

Materials I used: Sennelier watercolors, a paper of 300 grams, short brush number zero and other brush that I use for corrections, called Eradicator by Billy Showell.

Goals:
• Achieve a better color gradient by correcting the imperfections of a wrongly executed wash.

• Remove the small stain outside the pencil line, which can be seen in the first image, first photo.

My dry brush technique I have learned from various teachers and I have adapted it to my way of painting, it can be used by anyone who wants to do it.

How I did it:
• In this exercise, I have diluted a color with water, obtaining 4 different colors, ranging from the darkest to the lightest and with those four colors, I worked in each area.

• I wet the brush in the desired color, I discharge a little color on a piece of clean cotton cloth, and then I paint with dots or small brush strokes over my work.

To finish, I leave all the links I've used, including a link to a class I bought that is fabulous. In the links look for "Dry Brush technique" (there are also videos), there is also a link to their websites.

In these links, I show you some artists who paint with watercolor and, in my humble opinion, they are exceptional artists. Their works are amazing! ... 😉! I am impressed!!

Cómo lo he hecho:
